India should not get caught in AI rivalry between US, China: Vembu

Zoho Co-founder Sridhar Vembu suggested that India should pursue an independent approach to AI and invest heavily in foundational research and development. He said India's AI strategy should be built around partnerships without becoming locked into the emerging technology rivalry between US and China. "We must be friends with everybody, enemies with nobody and keep our options open," he said.
