Buoyed by record defence exports of ₹38,424 crore in FY26, the government has set an ambitious target of achieving ₹50,000 crore in annual exports by 2029. Rising global demand for Indian-made military equipment, including missiles, artillery systems and aircraft, along with expanding private-sector participation and indigenous programmes, is expected to drive the growth trajectory.
