Talks between India and billionaire Elon Musk-led Tesla over potential import duty cuts have reached a "weird stalemate situation", Reuters reported citing sources. Tesla reportedly said it's open to sourcing more auto components locally and eventually moving towards manufacturing, but the government is seeking firm commitments. Currently, India levies 100% duty on EVs priced at $40,000 or more.
