India plans to use a standard design for its upcoming 4,000-km bullet train network covering seven new high-speed rail corridors. Drawing on experience from the Mumbai-Ahmedabad project, the initiative aims to reduce costs, speed up construction, improve safety and promote indigenous high-speed rail technologies, laying the foundation for a modern nationwide bullet train network.
