Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) secretary MP Singh has announced that India will bid for the 32-team 2024 World Championships, adding "time has come for India" to host a high profile event. India had last hosted the World Championships in 1987. Notably, team championships take place on even years and individual championships on odd years.
