India to bring 8 cheetahs in two phases from Botswana

Eight cheetahs will be brought to India from Botswana in two phases, with the first batch of four arriving in May, officials said. Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park currently has 26 cheetahs, including 14 India-born cubs. In September 2022, eight Namibian cheetahs were released in Kuno, marking the first-ever intercontinental translocation of the big cats.
