India is planning to ease its accident-related penalties on nuclear equipment suppliers to attract US firms that don't supply due to unlimited accident exposure, a report said. The government has taken this step to expand nuclear power production capacity by 12 times to 100 gigawatts by 2047. The accident-related penalty was set under Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Act, 2010.
