India to export 2 million tonnes of sugar to China from next year

The Commerce Ministry on Thursday said that India plans to export 2 million tonnes of raw sugar to China from next year. Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) and COFCO, a Chinese state-owned company, have signed an initial deal for 50,000 tonnes of sugar. The ministry said the move is to reduce $60 billion trade deficit India has with China.
