The Indian government is reportedly planning to offer around ₹33,900 crore ($4.6 billion) in incentives by 2030 to companies manufacturing advanced batteries for electric vehicles (EVs). This is reportedly a part of the government think-tank NITI Aayog's proposal, stating that India could save $40 billion on oil imports by 2030 through wide adoption of electric vehicles.
