India has notified the WTO about its decision to retaliate against the European Union's steel tariffs, which resulted in a $4.41-billion trade loss for India between 2018 and 2023. India could impose extra duties or withdraw trade concessions worth $1.1 billion for imports from the bloc. Earlier this year, the EU extended safeguard duties on steel imports till 2026.
