India waives all customs duties on cotton imports till Oct 31

Central Government has temporarily waived all customs duties on the import of cotton from June 1 till October 31, 2026, to increase the availability of cotton for the textile sector. This comes after the textile industry sought the removal of the duty. Notably, India is the second-largest cotton producer but relies on imports for about 15% of its raw cotton.
