The government has said that Indian Air Force has a shortage of 405 pilots against its authorised strength. Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik, while speaking in Lok Sabha, said the force at present has 3,834 pilots as against the sanctioned strength of 4,239. He added that 260 aircraft are being used to train pilots in Air Force.
