Indian custody laws don't recognise joint parenting: Bombay HC

The Bombay High Court held that Indian laws governing child custody do not recognise the concept of joint parenting, and the welfare of the child is paramount over parental rights. The court further added that a strict 50-50 split is not a practical solution. The court set aside a family court order directing joint parenting of a 14-year-old boy.
