Indian surgeons remotely performed a gastric bypass and a heart defect repair on patients in Indore while attending a medical conference nearly 10,000 km away in Strasbourg, France. The real-time procedures were executed using a made-in-India surgical robot, with support from technical teams of SS Innovations and Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS).
