Indian economist gets key World Bank role on climate change in South Asia

Indian economist, Abhas Jha, has been appointed World Bank's Practice Manager for Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management for South Asia. Earlier, Jha held a key position on urban development and disaster risk management in East Asia and Pacific region. He joined the Bank in 2001 and served as Adviser to Executive Director for Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka.
