Indian-origin Arjun Mody has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of the US Social Security Administration (SSA), becoming the agency’s chief operating officer. Mody will be overseeing staff of approximately 50,000 employees and will be managing an annual spend of roughly $1.5 trillion. Mody once revealed that his father immigrated from India to US during 1970s with just $8 in pocket.
