Indian-origin graduate's AI alarm for deaf users wins UK award
Gargi Agrawalla, an Indian-origin graduate from UK's Loughborough University, bagged the UK James Dyson Award for developing SIVO.GO, an AI device for deaf or hard-of-hearing users. The device alerts users to emergencies like fire alarms or doorbells using vibration and light. Agrawalla, who was born profoundly deaf, drew upon her own experiences to develop the device.
