Indian-origin man wins 'Nobel Prize' of maths

The Indian-American number theorist - Manjul Bhargava (40)– was on Wednesday awarded the Fields Medal, considered to be the ‘Noble Prize’ in maths, at the International Congress of Mathematicians in South Korea. Bhargava, a professor of mathematics at Princeton University (US), was awarded the Fields Medal for "developing powerful new methods in the geometry of numbers.”
