Indian-origin woman elected as mayor in UK days after son becomes mayor

Days after 23-year-old Tushar Kumar became the youngest Indian-origin mayor in the UK, his mother Parveen Rani was also elected mayor in the country. Tushar became mayor of Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council, while Parveen was elected the first Indian-origin mayor of Hertsmere Borough Council. The family moved from Haryana's Rohtak to the UK in 2013.
