Indian painter Tyeb Mehta's painting 'Kali' sells for ₹26.4 crore

Late Indian painter Tyeb Mehta's 1989 untitled work (Kali) fetched ₹26.4 crore at Saffronart’s 200th auction online on Thursday, setting a new record for the painter. His previous record was set at a Christie’s auction where his 1994 Untitled (Woman on Rickshaw) sold for ₹22.99 crore. Notably, Mehta painted only three standing figures during his lifetime.
