Indian Railways generated revenue of ₹6,813.86 crore through scrap sales in financial year 2025-26, exceeding its internal target of ₹6,000 crore. According to Railway data, earnings beyond ticket sales have increased from ₹290 crore to over ₹777 crore in the past five years. A major share of this comes from Janaushadhi Centres and premium brand outlets at railway stations.
