Indian Railways freight loading rises 9% to 141.3 MT in July
Indian Railways recorded 9% growth in freight loading at 141.3 million tonnes in July 2026, up from 129.7 MT a year ago. Iron ore loading rose 22.2%, fertilisers 12%, and coal and food grains 11.5% each. Domestic coal supply to power plants increased 20%, while freight revenue grew 8% to generate an additional ₹1,137 crore.
