Indian Railways has reported notable increases in both freight and passenger traffic for May 2026. The organisation loaded 145 million tonnes of freight, reflecting a 1.3 per cent rise from the previous year, while passenger numbers surpassed 61 crore, marking a significant increase. Additionally, modern train services are expanding to enhance travel comfort and convenience.
