Indian Railways has unveiled a plan to double train origination capacity in 48 major cities over the next five years to meet rising passenger demand. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Railways, aims to reduce congestion, upgrade terminals, add platforms and improve signalling to strengthen nationwide rail connectivity by 2030.
