Indian rupee dips on FII outflows despite weaker dollar
short by / on Tuesday, 23 December, 2025
The Indian rupee weakened against the US dollar on Tuesday due to foreign fund outflows, with FIIs selling equities worth ₹457.34 crore while DIIs bought ₹4,058.22 crore. Losses were limited by lower global crude prices and a weaker dollar amid expectations of further US rate cuts in 2026 following Trump’s plan to appoint a dovish Fed Chair.
