Indian scientists solve decades long mystery about Earth’s crust

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune, studied a 92-million-year-old rock to date Earth's crust beneath the Bay of Bengal. Their study identifies the tectonic shifts in the Bay of Bengal, and by using the Q1 magnetic marker, they have mapped the seafloor's history, which puzzled geologists for decades.
