Indian urea plants 'burning more energy to produce less' amid LNG supply crisis: Report

India's urea plants are running at half capacity amid LNG supply issues, PTI reported. Despite productions dropping by 50%, energy consumption at affected urea plants has jumped 40% as large ammonia-urea trains running at reduced loads suffer a sharp fall in thermal efficiency. "Operating under these conditions means you're burning more energy to produce less fertiliser," a plant manager said.
