India's 28-member national ice hockey team was instructed by the Ice Hockey Association of India to raise ₹15,000 per player, to participate in the Ice Hockey Asia Cup, in Chinese Taipei. The team, which has been practising in cold conditions on frozen lakes in Ladakh, was formed after arranging hockey sticks donated by teams in Sweden and Canada among others.
