Indian-American Chandru Acharya was appointed to the Faith-Based Security Advisory Council of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) last month. He is the lone Hindu voice in this committee of 25 distinguished faith leaders from the US, a media release said on Monday. Acharya currently serves on the Planning Commission of Canton Township, Michigan.
