Indian-origin Dr Vivek Murthy has been nominated by US President Joe Biden to serve as the country's representative on the World Health Organisation's (WHO) Executive Board. The White House said Dr Murthy will continue his duties as the US Surgeon General alongside his new position. In March 2021, Dr Murthy was confirmed the US' 21st Surgeon General.
