Singapore has sentenced a 41-year-old Indian-origin woman, Gaiyathiri Murugayan, to 30 years in jail for torturing her maid to death. Murugayan had pleaded guilty to the killing of the 24-year-old Myanmar national in February. Pronouncing the judgement on Tuesday, Justice See Kee Oon said, "This is undoubtedly among the worst cases of culpable homicide."
