India-Pakistan border was declared 2 days after Independence

The border line separating India and Pakistan, known as the Radcliffe Line, was not finalised on the day of Independence, and was only declared two days after that, on August 17, 1947. The line, 3,323 kilometres long, was drawn by British lawyer Sir Cyril Radcliffe. The border has five crossing points, four in Punjab and one in Rajasthan.
