India's 19-year-old chess grandmaster Arjun Erigaisi has signed a five-year-long sponsorship deal of ₹12.4 crore with Singapore-based quantitative trading firm Quantbox. Arjun, who hails from Telangana, will get around ₹2.5 crore per year from the deal. Quantbox was started by Prashant Singh, a quant trader by profession who studied in Kolkata and has an interest in chess.
