India's first indigenous microprocessor 'Shakti', developed by IIT-Madras researchers, will not be outdated soon as it's one of the few ‘RISC V Microprocessors’ in the world, the lead researcher said on Friday. 'Shakti', developed at a cost of ₹11 crore, could be used for mobile computing systems, defence and nuclear sectors. It was made at ISRO's Chandigarh semiconductor laboratory.
