Apple has reportedly told India that implementing an EU-like rule that requires smartphones to have a USB-C charging port will affect its production-linked incentive targets. It has requested officials to exempt its existing models from the rule, which India wants to implement by June 2025, Reuters reported. If not exempted, Apple will reportedly need 18 months beyond 2024 to comply.
