India's first undersea tunnel will be constructed in Mumbai as part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed bullet train corridor, according to NHSRCL. The seven-km-long undersea tunnel will be built at Thane creek. The tender process for the construction of a 21-km long underground tunnel, including the 7-km undersea stretch, has begun, and the authorities will start receiving the bids from Thursday.
