Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said India's first bullet train will commence operations in 2026. The high-speed passenger train service will first run between Surat and Bilimora in Gujarat, he added. "A 270-km-long wire duct has been put in place. Work is going on as per schedule," he further said.
