ISRO chairperson K Sivan said that Gaganyaan, India's first human space flight mission, "will be delayed because of COVID-19". India's first manned mission was scheduled for December 2021 ahead of PM Modi's deadline. The PM had said that an Indian astronaut will be sent to space before India celebrates its 75th year of Independence in 2022.
