India's fiscal deficit widens to ₹6.2 lakh crore in April-September

Centre's fiscal deficit widened to ₹6.2 lakh crore, or 37.3% of FY23's full-year target, in April-September 2022, government data showed. Fiscal deficit for April-September 2021 had accounted for 35% of FY22's target. Total receipts stood at ₹12.04 lakh crore while overall expenditure was ₹18.24 lakh crore in April-September 2022. They were 52.7% and 46.2% of FY23's budget target respectively.
