A Northeast Frontier Railway official on Monday said the Bogibeel bridge, India's longest combined rail and road bridge, is expected to be completed in December. Work on the 4.94-kilometre-long bridge, which will connect Dhemaji with Dibrugarh in Assam, began in 2002. The original budget of the project was ₹1,767 crore, but its final cost is expected to touch ₹5,000 crore.
