India's military spending in 2021 was the third highest in the world at $76.6 billion, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). The five largest spenders in 2021 were the United States, China, India, the United Kingdom and Russia. US military spending reached $801 billion in 2021, while China spent $293 billion on defence.
