Scientists at University College London have developed indoor light-powered perovskite solar cells that could eliminate the need for billions of disposable batteries. The cells achieved 37.6% efficiency under typical indoor lighting and retained 92% performance after 100 days. They could sustainably power household gadgets such as remotes, keyboards and sensors.
