Senior advocate Indu Malhotra is set to become the first woman lawyer to be directly appointed as a Supreme Court judge after the Centre accepted the apex court's collegium recommendation. Malhotra, who specialises in arbitration, was the second woman to be appointed as the top court's senior advocate. She is expected to take oath as the judge later this week.
