The Federation of Chakan Industries in Pune has met senior railway officials to discuss increasing the volume of goods being transported through the rail network. "Due to rising fuel prices impacting road transport cost...we will now move to railway transport," said Dilip Batwal, Secretary of the federation. The federation is planning to shift to railways in a phased manner.
