Infantino apologises to FIFA leaders over his WC stake sale plan

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said he apologised to the FIFA Council on Thursday for mistakes in communicating and consulting over his now-abandoned World Cup stake sale plan. However, he added that it was only a proposal and "in no way a done deal". English and German football chiefs said they remained unconvinced that he was fit to continue as President.
