Infosys' profit rises 3.2% to ₹5,360 crore y-o-y, revenue jumps 23.6% to ₹34,470 crore

Infosys, India's second largest IT services provider, on Sunday reported a consolidated net profit of ₹5,360 crore for the first quarter, up 3.2% year-on-year from ₹5,195 crore recorded in Q1FY22. The IT major's consolidated revenue stood at ₹34,470 crore, up 23.6% from ₹27,896 crore recorded during the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Russia fires 21 missiles at Ukraine

Russia fired around 21 missiles at Ukraine, with the latter saying that it downed six of the missiles launched overnight and in the early morning on Tuesday. Missile debris damaged three private buildings and two cars in one of the Kyiv's districts. Ukraine's air force said Russia's hypersonic Kinzhal missile was among the six downed.

New Zealand rings in New Year 2025, 500-kg pyrotechnics launched from Sky Tower

New Zealand welcomed New Year 2025 with a laser light show over the Harbour Bridge and a fireworks display at the Sky Tower in Auckland. A 10-second countdown was projected onto the base of the Sky Tower. It was followed by the launch of 500-kg of pyrotechnics from three purpose-built firing sites mounted on the tower.

Notably, Carlsen was suspended from World Rapid Championship days earlier for violating dress code by wearing jeans. FIDE tweaked rules, allowing him to return for Blitz event.
