Injured turtle, swept away by Assam floods, released after rescue
Community-led conservation efforts in Assam helped rescue a Tricarinate Hill Turtle after it was swept away during upstream floods in the Brahmaputra River. The turtle was rescued from the river, treated for the injuries it had sustained, and released back into a freshwater habitat. The Tricarinate Hill Turtle is a freshwater species found commonly across parts of South Asia.
