The insurance scheme for healthcare workers who are engaged in COVID-19-related duties has been extended by 180 days from today, the government said in a press release. The scheme, which is under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package (PMGKP), has been extended to "provide the safety net to the dependents of health workers". The PMGKP was launched in March 2020.
