The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Saturday that Islamist insurgents carried out mass executions of 56 Syrian government troops at an airbase in the Idlib province. The air base had been captured by an alliance of Islamist groups earlier this month after a two-year siege. The executions were confirmed via witnesses and pictures, the observatory added.
