The International Court of Justice dismissed Sudan's claim that United Arab Emirates (UAE) fuelled genocide in Darfur by supplying weapons to paramilitary forces. Sudan has been plunged into chaos since 2023 due to power struggle between its army chief and paramilitary RSF commander. The Darfur conflict sparked the world's worst displacement and hunger crisis, a UN-backed report had said.
